About Me

Hello, and welcome to my world of colour and texture!

I live on the South West coast of Devon in the UK with my partner, two little cats (Minxy and Treacle), and two daughters, all of whom I adore dearly! I confess that I am a huge tea addict, and supply myself with endless cups of tea on a daily basis.

After starting a family and working in the banking sector for many years, I was yearning to do something more creative. I had studied for a HND in Graphic Design in the late 80’s, and wanted to go back and study Illustration. In the ever changing, fast pace world of art, I wanted to learn new techniques, re-educate myself, and to learn more about the industry. So, I went and enrolled on a BA (Hons) Degree course - and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made!

In 2018 I graduated from Plymouth College of Art with a BA (Hons) in illustration.

As you can see, I am hugely inspired by nature, its beautiful colours, texture and movement. My illustrations have most recently been inspired by Japanese art, florals, birds, and the fabulous colours that are used in oriental silk garments.

My designs are often mixed media, using various mark making and collage to give texture to my elements. I then work digitally to bring my final illustrations together. I have a passion for pattern design, and love to see these designs implemented onto fabrics and other surfaces.

I have exhibited at New Designers: London, London Design Fair, and also completed an internship at Frugi, Cornwall.

You can also follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest to see what inspires me on a daily basis.
